About the circuit
The Circuit de Dijon-Prenois, located near Dijon, France, is known for its fast and flowing layout, making it a favorite among drivers for its dynamic and challenging nature. Opened in 1972, this circuit has hosted several Formula 1 French Grands Prix throughout the 1970s and 1980s, including the memorable 1979 race famous for the fierce battle between René Arnoux and Gilles Villeneuve. With its combination of long straights, sweeping corners, and notable elevation changes, Dijon-Prenois tests both speed and agility, offering exciting racing opportunities. Although it no longer features on the Formula 1 calendar, the circuit continues to host various national and international motorsport events, maintaining its reputation as a classic and thrilling venue in the racing world.
